A 62-year-old Saskatoon man is facing a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the city’s seventh homicide of 2023.
According to police, officers were called to a home on 10th Street East on Thursday at about 5 p.m., when they found 63-year-old Tanice Roberts-Knorr dead. Her next of kin have been notified, police said.
The 62-year-old was arrested Thursday in Mistusinne, a resort village near Elbow. On Friday afternoon, police announced the criminal charge.
“The suspect and the victim were known to each other,” police noted in a statement.
Mistusinne Mayor Lloyd Montgomery said he saw a police presence in the village Thursday, when three police cars surrounded a residence for several hours.
The mayor said occurrences like that are very rare in the community.
“It is not some place where we actually see virtually any crime,” Montgomery said.
