Saskatoon police say a woman found dead in the Nutana neighbourhood is the city’s latest homicide victim.
Police were called shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday to a home in the 800 block of 10th Street East where they found the 63-year-old woman dead.
With assistance from the RCMP, a 62-year-old man, known to the victim, was arrested in Mistusinne, a resort village near Elbow.
Police have not released the identity of the victim.
Lloyd Montgomery, mayor of Mistusinne, said he saw a police presence in the village Thursday, and three police cars surrounded a residence for several hours.
The mayor said occurrences like that are very rare in the community.
“It is not some place where we actually see virtually any crime,” Montgomery said.
