Grey Cup winner and former Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant is back in the province.
Durant partnered with Nutrien Ag Solutions to appear at Ag in Motion, Western Canada’s largest outdoor farm show, which wraps up Thursday in Langham.
Durant played for the Roughriders for 10 seasons from 2006 to 2016, winning the Grey Cup in 2013, the team’s most recent championship.
“Saskatchewan has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m here working with Nutrien helping promote new products,” said Durant.
Durant said he’s learned a lot about the farming and agricultural world over the past couple of days.
“Just learning about the farming industry and agriculture has been very informative for me,” said Durant
This is Durant’s first visit back to Saskatchewan since his CFL retirement in 2018, and he said he jumped at the opportunity.
“Absolutely anytime I can get a chance to come back and help out in the community, organizations or businesses, I’m all for it. It’s a no-brainer to come back and repay,” said Durant.
Durant said he’s kept up with the Riders, watching every game since he retired.
