A 25-year-old man from the Little Pine First Nation has been charged with impaired driving causing death after a crash Saturday that killed two people.
In a media release Monday, the RCMP said officers responded just after 4:30 a.m., to a call about a single-vehicle rollover on the Little Pine First Nation. At the scene, the officers foundĀ a truck had rolled in a ditch.
Two occupants of the truck, a 25-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Both were from the Little Pine First Nation, located about 70 kilometres west of North Battleford.
After an investigation, the driver of the truck, Tyson Anthony Cardinal, was charged with two counts of impaired driving causing death and one count of driving with a blood-alcohol concentration equal to or exceeding .08.
Cardinal was remanded in custody and was to make his first court appearance in North Battleford on Monday.
