The Kindersley RCMP says three men have died due to suspected fentanyl overdoses in the city over the past two months.
In a media release Friday, the Mounties said there have been seven overdoses in the city since April. The deaths occurred on May 14, July 4 and Wednesday of this week.
According to the RCMP, naloxone was administered in four other cases.
“Through police investigation, the illicit drugs are suspected to be fentanyl, made available in a crystal-like form, sometimes tinted with a red or purple colour,” said the release, which noted that autopsies and toxicology analyses ordered by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have been ordered.
Anyone who has information about the incidents or the substances involved is asked to call the RCMP at 306-310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
