A traffic stop and a police raid in Saskatoon saw officers seize a wide array of items including prohibited guns, illegal drugs, cash, printers allegedly used to make fake ID, and a Mercedes-Benz.
According to police, members of the Saskatoon Crime Reduction Team were involved in a vehicle stop on McClocklin Road and executed a search warrant on J.J. Thiessen Way on Wednesday. Five people were arrested, and police seized items including:
- A 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML63;
- $2,434 in cash;
- 318 grams of methamphetamine;
- 385 grams of fentanyl;
- 23 grams of psilocybin;
- 1.8 litres of gamma-hydroxybutyrate;
- 48 amphetamine pills;
- four LSD pills;
- 10 temazepam pills;
- a prohibited semi-automatic pistol;
- a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun;
- two “bladed weapons;”
- three 3D printers;
- an “eCard printer with blank plastic cards to manufacture counterfeit identification;”
- two digital scales;
- two mobile phones; and
- assorted drug paraphernalia
While five people were initially arrested, police said three are now facing charges.
Two men, ages 40 and 43, are facing “numerous charges relating to drug trafficking, weapons, possession of the proceeds of crime, and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions,” police said.
A 35-year-old woman who was arrested was found to be wanted on unrelated warrants, police noted.
