After flash flooding left parts of Prince Albert underwater Sunday, other regions of Saskatchewan could see heavy rainfall Monday afternoon.
Just after 4:30 p.m., Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm warnings for areas around Holdfast, Chamberlain and Dilke, while previously issued warnings for Churchbridge and MacNutt remained in place.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when thunderstorms are imminent or are already happening.
Earlier Monday, the weather service issued severe thunderstorm watches for the areas around Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, Canora, Esterhazy, Humboldt, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Kamsack, La Loche, Melville and Yorkton.
“Severe thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and will persist into the evening hours. The threat is expected to diminish after sunset,” the weather service said in a statement.
Watches mean conditions are right for the development of severe storms.
The latest information on the watches can be found on Environment Canada’s website.
