A workplace injury near Kisbey in the summer of 2019 has resulted in a $150,000 fine for a Calgary-based company.
Last week, Horizon Drilling pleaded guilty in Carlyle Provincial Court to one violation of the province’s occupational health and safety regulations. Another charge was withdrawn.
In a release Friday, the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety said a worker suffered serious injuries on July 19, 2019 while trying to diagnose a hydraulic line that was leaking hydraulic oil.
The court fined the company $107,142.90 with a $42,857.10 surcharge.
