Carson Green is turning heads and pages at Canada’s Farm Show.
The 14-year-old created ‘Everything Country Magazine’ in 2021 with the help of a friend. Green wanted to start his own business and now is the sole creator behind the magazine.
“I’m dedicated to this magazine and I’m going to do my best to keep it going long term,” said Green.
The Mossbank teen said growing up with a farming background helps him come up with new stories.
He also gets help from members of the farming community of Saskatchewan who reach out to him with story ideas and photo submissions.
The idea for the magazine came from living in a small town. He would frequently talk with his friends about their hobbies and what they enjoyed about country life.
He thought about making a magazine about it — and so he did.
“As the name implies, it’s everything country,” said Green. “We have rodeo, ranching, agriculture — you name it, it’s in there.”
His magazine is printed by LuxArt Printing Inc. located in Moose Jaw.
When he’s not working on his next publication, he’s helping out on the family farm and enjoying the great outdoors. He said this spring has been perfect weather for crops.
“The season has been really good, more rain than we’ve had in past years. Crops are looking good,” he said.
He is attending Canada’s Farm Show held at the REAL District. He will be taking part in an Ag Talk presentation on Thursday at 1:15 p.m., at the Launch Pad located in the Viterra International Trade Centre.
He said he has been having a great time so far.
“I’ve talked to some really nice people and I’m looking forward to the next three days,” said Green.
Green publishes his magazine twice a year. Physical and digital copies can be purchased on his website.
