A dangerous person alert issued by the Saskatchewan RCMP after a shooting death in Saskatoon has been cancelled.
The alert was issued at around 9:45 a.m., and said there had been a homicide in Saskatoon on Wednesday morning.
The RCMP said two suspects — a man and a woman — had fled the scene.
At around 10 a.m., the alert was cancelled and said the two people were in custody.
In a media release at 10:35 a.m., the Saskatoon Police Service said its murder investigation was continuing.
“Two people believed to be involved fled in a vehicle and were located in a rural area west of Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation, which is Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction,” the release said.
“As they were believed to be armed and dangerous, Saskatchewan RCMP issued a Dangerous Person Alert in the Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation area.”
It’s unknown if the incident has anything to do with the police presence near Pleasant Hill Community School on Wednesday.
