It wasn’t just extreme heat residents in Saskatoon had to deal with over the weekend.
Unsettled weather hit the city Saturday afternoon leaving parts of the Bridge City under water.
At 5:15 p.m., Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the city. The rain came fast and furious, causing flash flooding in many parts of the city.
Idylwyld Drive and 25th Street were among several roads that flooded with water up to car doors. Photos online showed people floating in the downtown intersection.
Police and firefighters were also seen helping people out of their stuck cars from the flooded Idylwyld Drive underpass near the Travelodge.
Streets around Market Mall were also flooded and the city closed Nutrien Playland early.

Environment Canada issued heat warnings on Sunday for many parts of the province.
While Saskatoon was not in the warning, the weather will remain hot and humid for the next few days.
The weather agency says those conditions could mean the potential of more strong storms thunderstorms to develop.
