Police in Saskatoon executed a search warrant Wednesday, leading to five arrests and the seizure of large quantities of drugs.
Officers with the Crime Reduction Team and Tactical Support Unit executed the warrant on St. George Avenue, police said. During the search, police said officers seized 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 161.7 grams of fentanyl, 587 oxycodone pills, 2.4 grams of cocaine and 18 unknown pills, which were sent away for analysis.
Officers also seized a sawed-off .22-calibre rifle, a .32-calibre pistol, ammunition, body armour, $4,495 in cash, multiple cellphones, and what police called “assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.”
While five people were initially arrested, police said three have been charged. A 33-year-old man and 25-year-old woman are both facing charges related to drugs, weapons, proceeds of crime and breaching probation, police said, while a 41-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for domestic assault.
The other two were released without charges.
