A 43-year-old Estevan woman is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and a pickup truck near Fortuna, N.D.
According to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened at an intersection of highways about 10 kilometres east of Fortuna on Sunday afternoon.
The highway patrol allege a 25-year-old man from Williston, N.D., driving the Ford F-150 didn’t yield at the intersection and collided with a motorcycle being driven by a 42-year-old man from Estevan. The woman was a passenger on the motorcycle.
Police said both people on the motorcycle were thrown from it and suffered serious injuries. They were taken to hospital in Crosby, N.D., before being transferred to Minot, where the woman died.
The driver of the truck wasn’t injured.
The highway patrol said the crash is still under investigation, but noted that charges are pending against the driver of the truck.
