Two drivers learned an expensive lesson about speeding on Saskatchewan highways Sunday.
In a tweet Sunday evening, a member of Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) said they had pulled over a driver doing nearly 200 kilometres per hour on the Trans-Canada Highway.
“Locked him at 151, but I got him going 196,” the officer tweeted.
The tweet added the driver was fined $1,201 for exceeding the speed limit of 110 km/h by more than 50 km/h. The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver lost four demerit points.

Just hours earlier, a CTSS officer tweeted they also had stopped a speeder, this one doing 155 km/h.
The tweet said the driver had been fined $742 for exceeding the speed limit of 110 km/h by more than 35 km/h.
“I don’t know about you, but I can think of lots of better uses for $742 these days,” the tweet said.
No idea why people continue to risk it cruising along at 150+ on our highways. This driver was issued a ticket with a $742 fine for exceeding by more than 35 km/h. I don't know about you, but I can think of lots of better uses for $742 these days. @reginapolice #slowdown pic.twitter.com/dK5TkHeCFX
