A pocket of severe weather could show up Thursday in southeast Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches just before 3 p.m. for areas around Stoughton, Estevan, Carlyle, Weyburn and Moosomin.
Just before 4 p.m., the watches were extended to areas around Melville, Yorkton, Moosomin, Grenfell and Wawota.
Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for the areas around Stoughton, Carlyle, Manor, Lampman, Bienfait and Alameda were taken down.
According to the advisory, conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms late in the afternoon and evening.
The weather service said the storms could include wind gusts in excess of 100 kilometres per hour, rainfall in excess of 50 millimetres per hour and quarter-sized hail.
A severe thunderstorm warning, issued for the Stoughton area just before 3 p.m., was lifted shortly afterwards and replaced with a severe thunderstorm watch.
