An investigation into street-level drug dealers in Saskatoon ended this month with four arrests and the seizure of cash, cars and crack cocaine.
According to police, “Project Rancid” was a three-month project targeting a group suspected of selling cocaine and taking orders over the phone in what police called a “dial-a-dope operation.”
Police said two men were arrested at a business on Eighth Street East on May 4, while two more men were arrested on Circle Drive and Avenue P North.
Officers also raided two homes on Hamm Lane and Kristjanson Road, where police said they seized $56,070 in cash, 26.6 grams of crack cocaine, a 2019 Ford F-150, a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2017 BMW 440i and a 2013 Dodge Journey.
One of the four men arrested was released without charges, but police said the remaining three are facing charges including trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
