Saskatoon police say they’ve made two arrests in connection with a shooting in the city late last month.
On April 28, a woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in the 1500 block of 20th Street West.
In a release Monday, police said members of their Serious Assault Unit, Guns and Gangs Unit, Tactical Support Unit, Canine Unit and Patrol officers executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence in the 200 block of Avenue S South.
A perimeter was set up by police and two women, who weren’t related to the crime, left the building without incident. Two men, ages 26 and 21, also came out and were arrested. Two loaded sawed-off shotguns, ammunition and body armour were found inside.
The 21-year-old is facing eight gun-related charges as well as an aggravated assault charge, while the 26-year-old faces one firearms charge and one charge of aggravated assault.
Police said further charges are expected as the investigation continues.
