A 28-year-old Regina man is facing a charge of second-degree murder after the death of a woman in Punnichy last month.
According to the RCMP, officers were called to a home in Punnichy at around 4:30 a.m. on April 22 for a report of an injured woman.
The woman was declared dead at the scene by STARS paramedics, the RCMP said. She has since been identified as Kihaw Fox, a 31-year-old member of the Piapot First Nation. Her family has been notified of the death.
According to the RCMP, officers quickly arrested 28-year-old Ethan Sunshine on the George Gordon First Nation in connection with Fox’s death.
Sunshine, a resident of Regina, has been charged with second-degree murder, criminal negligence causing death, reckless discharge of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
He made a court appearance in Punnichy on April 25, the RCMP said.
