Saskatchewan RCMP officers have arrested three people wanted for murder after an alleged assault left a 22-year-old man dead.
Police said the assault happened April 18 at a home on the Saulteaux First Nation.
When officers arrived, they found the man suffering serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital in Saskatoon, where he died of his injuries four days later. He’s since been identified as Quin Squair of Wilkie.
Investigators charged five people with second-degree murder in relation to the assault and subsequent death. Two of them, 26-year-old Riley Gopher and a 17-year-old from the Saulteaux First Nation, were arrested April 22, but police said three more suspects were still wanted: 22-year-old Wionna Katcheech, 31-year-old Alex Gopher and 21-year-old Colton Swiftwolfe.
On April 25, the RCMP said, Katcheech and Swiftwolfe were arrested with help from the North Battleford Gang Task Force. The following day, Gopher turned himself in to police, the RCMP said.
All three appeared in a North Battleford courtroom last week, the RCMP said.
