Scott Moe says he wants to continue serving as Saskatchewan’s Premier.
The Saskatchewan Party announced Thursday Moe will be seeking his fourth term as MLA for Rosthern-Shellbrook and leader of the province.
“It’s an honour to serve our great province,” Moe said in a release posted online.
“Saskatchewan’s economy is strong and that will be the choice in the next election – a choice between the Saskatchewan Party’s record of growth that works for everyone and the NDP’s record of no growth that didn’t work for anyone.”
Moe’s nomination will be made official on Friday, exactly 18 months from the next provincial election set for October 28, 2024.
NDP choose Noor Burki to run in Regina by-election
Voters in Regina Coronation Park will be going to the polls before the next provincial election.
New Democrats nominated Noor Burki Wednesday to run in a byelection to replace Mark Docherty, who resigned in February.
Burki, a small business owner and educator, previously ran for the NDP in the 2020 general election.
The government previously stated a byelection would be held within six months of Docherty’s resignation.
