Canadian football is heading south.
According to the CFL, a new deal with CBS Sports Network will see 34 games – including the Labour Day Classic – carried in the United States as part of a multi-year agreement.
The network is the 24-hour home of CBS Sports, and CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie said he’s looking forward to working with the U.S. network.
“CBS Sports is synonymous with the finest in sports broadcasting and we’re proud to showcase our product on its network,” Ambrosie said in a statement.
“We’re confident that, working together, we can serve our American fans and continue to grow their numbers.”
Dan Weinberg, head of programming for CBS Sports, said he’s excited to bring Canadian football to American viewers.
“The CFL is an exciting brand of football, with a great history that has long included some of the stars of the game,” Weinberg said in a statement.
The full CFL on CBS Sports Network schedule is expected to be announced closer to the start of the season.
“The CFL will also announce how U.S. fans can watch games not being broadcast on CBS Sports Network at a later date,” the league added.
