The University of Regina Rams and University of Saskatchewan Huskies will renew their rivalry in the second week of the 2023 Canada West football regular season.
Canada West revealed its schedule for the 2023 campaign Tuesday.
The Rams are to travel to Saskatoon to face the Huskies at Griffiths Stadium on Sept. 8. A rematch is slated for Oct. 28 at Mosaic Stadium in the final week of the regular season.
Regina is to open the regular season Sept. 1 against the visiting UBC Thunderbirds before visiting the Huskies in Week 2. After playing host to the Calgary Dinos on Sept. 16, the Rams are to face the Manitoba Bisons in Winnipeg on Sept. 23 and the Alberta Golden Bears in Edmonton on Sept. 29.
After a bye for Thanksgiving, the Rams are to entertain Manitoba on Oct. 14 and then visit UBC on Oct. 21 before the rematch with the Huskies on Oct. 28.
The Huskies — the conference’s defending champions — are to open the regular season Sept. 1 against the host Bisons. After playing host to the Rams on Sept. 8, Saskatchewan will take on the visiting Golden Bears on Sept. 15.
The Huskies are to be in Calgary on Sept. 22 before UBC visits Griffiths Stadium on Sept. 29. Saskatchewan is to face the host Golden Bears on Oct. 14 and then will play host to the Dinos on Oct. 21 before travelling to Regina to complete the regular season.
The Canada West semifinals are set for the Nov. 4 weekend, with the Hardy Cup conference final slated for Nov. 11.
The conference champion is to play host to the AUS champions in the Mitchell Bowl, with the winner of that U Sports semifinal moving on to the 58th Vanier Cup. That game is scheduled for Nov. 25 in Kingston, Ont.
