The snow that started blowing into Saskatoon on Tuesday has left streets slick and icy in many parts of the city.
The Saskatoon Police Service issued an advisory Wednesday morning, saying “slippery conditions and poor visibility” are present in the city.
“Motorists are advised to slow down, allow for extra driving time, and allow extra stopping distance when approaching intersections and other vehicles,” the police service said in a statement.
“If you see a collision or need assistance out on the roads, please call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or 911 in an emergency.”
At least one serious collision has already been reported Wednesday.
According to police, a 27-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle at 22nd Street and Hart Road shortly before 2 a.m.
Westbound traffic on 22nd Street was restricted between Hart Road and Betts Avenue for several hours following the crash.
