A 23-year-old Calgary man is wanted by the RCMP in connection with a home invasion in La Ronge that turned into a shootout.
Last Wednesday, the RCMP reported three masked men armed with a gun had forced their way into a home in La Ronge. They were reportedly searching for a man inside, but once they found him, the two groups reportedly exchanged gunshots, injuring one of the masked men and allowing the occupant to flee.
The RCMP said an investigation led police to identify all three masked men, and two people were quickly arrested and hit with numerous charges.
On Monday, police said a third man — 23-year-old Rhys Croasdale of Calgary — is also facing charges, and he’s currently wanted by police.
According to the RCMP, Croasdale has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Croasdale was described as standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, with a slim build and brown hair. He’s known to frequent La Ronge, Calgary and Edmonton, police said, but his current whereabouts are unknown and police are working to track him down.
Anyone who spots Croasdale was advised not to approach him, and to report the sighting to the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
