A 15-year-old Saskatoon girl is facing a charge of assault with a weapon after allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old girl, sending her to hospital.
According to police, officers were called to Argyle Avenue in the early-morning hours Thursday for a reported disturbance. Although few details were provided, police said two parties who were known to each other had been involved in a dispute, but both had already fled when officers arrived.
“A short time later, officers were dispatched back to the same address for a report of an injured person,” police said in a statement. “Continued investigation determined that the 17-year-old female victim had been stabbed by the other party involved in the earlier dispute.”
The victim was taken to hospital with injures that were not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
