A little over a week after several guns were reported stolen from a Tisdale store, three teens have been charged and the RCMP is on the lookout for a fourth.
In an update Monday, the Tisdale Mounties said they had “received multiple tips” from the public since the March 24 break-in. Those tips helped officers identify four suspects, and three of them have been arrested.
Police said some of the charges the suspects face include break and enter with intent to steal a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.
None of the male suspects can be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. One made his first court appearance in Melfort on Monday, police said, and two others are scheduled to appear on May 8.
“Efforts to locate the fourth, and final, male youth involved in the theft of the firearms are ongoing,” the RCMP said in a release. “Officers continue to conduct proactive patrols in the community to help maintain safety and gather any additional information that may assist with furthering the investigation.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Tisdale RCMP at 306-878-3810, their local police service, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
