The Saskatchewan government announced Friday where the next flight of displaced Ukrainians will be landing.
In a media advisory, the government said the fifth humanitarian flight is to arrive in Regina on Monday.
Immigration and Career Training Minister Jeremy Harrison and Terry Dennis, the legislative secretary responsible for Saskatchewan-Ukraine relations, are to greet the 230 passengers at 4 p.m. at Regina International Airport.
The flight was previously announced, but there were still discussions about where it was to land.
The flight will complete the memorandum of understanding signed last summer by Premier Scott Moe and representatives of the humanitarian organizations Solidaire and Open Arms. The MOU pledged to bring more than 1,000 Ukrainian citizens to Saskatchewan from Warsaw, Poland by March 31.
After the passengers arrive, they’ll get access to temporary accommodations as well as supports and information about living in Saskatchewan.
To date, the province has welcomed more than 3,200 displaced Ukrainians since Russia’s invasion of that country began.
