The temperatures may not feel like spring just yet, but the season officially starts Monday.
Temperatures are still below freezing in most of the province and will be until Thursday, when it’s expected to warm up to 0 C.
Amber Maxie was waiting for a bus in downtown Regina and said she’s looking forward to the warmer weather.
“The sun (will be) out longer. It’s going to be so, so nice,” she said.
The part Maxie said she’s most looking forward to is going out for walks in the warmer temperatures.
She said she’s not going to miss being outside in the winter months, especially when she has to wait for a bus.
Shenaz Gujral is also excited for the spring season.
“Yay! It’s spring season. What else can I wait for?” she said. “I’m very happy.”
Gujral said she’s new to Canada, and so she hasn’t had the opportunity to do a lot of spring activities yet.
“I do know we can have a lot of outdoor fun, (like) going to the parks, going to the beach (and going) to the river,” she said.
Gujral added she’s looking forward to seeing the flowers bloom and soaking in the sunshine.
She said there’s only one thing she’ll miss about winter, and it’s not the cold.
“The scenic beauty — what I can see through my window,” she said. “I’m going to miss that only.”
