Threatening a delivery driver with a fake gun has landed a 15-year-old boy in real trouble.
According to police, the driver was in the area of 22nd Street West and Avenue I North on Thursday evening when he spotted the teen breaking into his car. When he confronted the boy, police said the driver was threatened with a firearm.
“A brief exchange between the suspect and victim occurred before the suspect fled the area on foot,” police said in a statement. “The victim was not physically injured.”
Police caught up with the boy a short distance away, and found an “imitation firearm” discarded in the snow nearby.
The boy was arrested, police said, and he’s now facing charges including assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
