Regina Pats defenceman Stanislav Svozil’s big week has been recognized by the WHL.
The 20-year-old Svozil was named the league’s player of the week after recording eight points, including one goal, in three games.
The product of Prerov, Czechia had two assists Friday as Regina beat the Winnipeg Ice 5-3. On Saturday, he had a goal and three assists as the Pats downed the Red Deer Rebels 6-5 in overtime. On Sunday, he had two helpers in a 5-2 loss to the Saskatoon Blades.
Svozil is riding a 10-game point-scoring streak, with five goals and 17 assists in that span. He enters the week tied for the WHL lead in scoring among defencemen with 72 points.
The Pats are to return to action Wednesday, when the Edmonton Oil Kings are to visit the Brandt Centre. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
