Olivia reigned supreme again in Saskatchewan in 2022.
According to eHealth, Olivia was the most popular baby name for girls born in the province last year – the eighth straight year that name has topped the list. Last year, there were 60 little Olivias born in Saskatchewan.
For the second year in a row, Noah was the most popular name for baby boys born in the province. There were 58 babies given that name in Saskatchewan last year.
In data compiled as of Feb. 13, Olivia was followed on the list by Amelia (44), Emma (43), Ava (41), Lily (39), Sophia (37), Isla (35), Charlotte (33), Willow (32), Abigail (31) and Nora (31).
On the boys list, Noah was followed by Liam (52), Leo (47), Jack (44), Lucas (44), Benjamin (43), Theodore (43), James (42), Levi (40), Lincoln (40) and Oliver (40).
eHealth said there were 12,802 live births registered in Saskatchewan as of Feb. 13; the final total is expected to be announced in March. There were 14,559 live births registered in 2021.
The total doesn’t include Saskatchewan mothers who gave birth outside of the province.
