A possible kidnapping on Valentine’s Day in Nipawin has left five people facing criminal charges.
Three of them have been arrested, and police have asked the public to keep an eye out for the other two.
According to the RCMP, officers responded to a reported break-and-enter at a Nipawin home at about 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
“It was also reported that someone may have been taken against their will, but this could not be immediately confirmed by investigators,” the RCMP said in a statement.
Three men from Nipawin were arrested after a lengthy investigation, the RCMP said, and all three are facing charges of kidnapping and breaking-and-entering. All of them are scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday, police said.
Two men are still wanted in connection with the case, police added.
William Chaboyer, from Cumberland House, is charged with kidnapping and breaking-and-entering, police said. He’s described as 5-foot-8 in height and weighing 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Thorne McKay, also from Cumberland House, is charged with a single count of breaking-and-entering. The RCMP said he stands 5-foot-10 and weights 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
“If you see these wanted individuals, do not approach them and contact police immediately,” the RCMP advised.
