A 45-year-old man was stabbed during a robbery in Saskatoon on Wednesday evening.
According to police, the man was walking in the area around Avenue R South and 21st Street West when he encountered two people armed with a knife who tried to mug him.
The man ended up struggling with the robbers, police said, and he was stabbed “several times.”
The victim made a report to police from a hospital, where he was being treated for injuries the police described as “non-life-threatening.”
Police didn’t say whether the robbers managed to take any of the victim’s belongings, and no descriptions of the perpetrators were shared.
Officers are investigating the stabbing, police said, and anyone with information or relevant video footage captured in the area was asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or make a report through Crime Stoppers.
