A highway collision Wednesday morning left a three-year-old girl dead and several other people injured.
The collision happened shortly before 10 a.m. on Highway 21 about four kilometres south of Kerrobert, the RCMP said.
A minivan and an SUV collided, police said, and one of the passengers in the van β a three-year-old girl from the Kindersley area β was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.
βHer family has been notified and our thoughts are with them during this difficult time,β the RCMP said in a statement.
Another female child who was also a passenger in the van was seriously hurt in the crash and was taken to hospital by STARS air ambulance with serious injuries, police said.
The woman driving the minivan was also hospitalized, the RCMP said, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the SUV was treated for injuries at the scene, police said.
Highway 21 was closed during the initial investigation into the collision, the RCMP said, but has since been reopened. The crash is still under investigation with help from an RCMP collision reconstruction expert.
