The Saskatchewan Roughriders’ 2023 offence could be taking shape — and some of the names will be familiar to Montreal fans.
According to a report from TSN’s Farhan Lalji, Montreal Alouettes quarterback Trevor Harris is expected to sign a deal with the Riders once free agency opens on Feb. 14, following the legal negotiating period which ends on Sunday.

Harris has dressed for 161 CFL games in his career, throwing for 28,610 yards, 154 touchdowns and 71 interceptions.
The 36-year-old was awarded the starting job in 2022 over Vernon Adams Jr. in Montreal, throwing for 4,157 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
And one of Harris’ favourite targets with the Als also could be on the move west as well.
According to 3DownNation’s John Hodge, slotback Jake Wieneke is also set to sign with the Riders.

Wieneke, a three-year CFL veteran, appeared in 16 games in 2022, recording 45 catches for 589 yards and two touchdowns. The 28-year-old’s breakout campaign came in 2021, when he caught 11 touchdowns.
The Riders’ offence appears to be on its way to a new look, with the team expected to move on from Cody Fajardo, who has been the team’s starting quarterback since 2019.
Fajardo remains unsigned, as do receivers Duke Williams, Shaq Evans and Kyran Moore.
