The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added a former New England Patriots draft pick.
The CFL’s Roughriders announced Tuesday they’ve signed American defensive back Kendarius Webster, who was selected by New England in the seventh round (252nd overall) of the 2019 NFL draft.
The 5-foot-11, 202-pounder was waived by the Patriots that fall and signed with the Miami Dolphins. He played eight games with Miami in 2019, recording 19 tackles and one pass knockdown.
In 2020, he appeared in nine games for the San Francisco 49ers, registering six tackles and one forced fumble. He spent time on the New York Jets’ practice squad in 2021.
Webster played five seasons at the University of Mississippi and had 122 tackles, 20 pass knockdowns, 5.5 tackles for losses and three interceptions over 47 collegiate games.
The 26-year-old Webster hails from Decatur, Ga.
