Another three men are facing charges that include first-degree murder in connection with the death of Wesley Custer in August of 2020.
The RCMP announced Tuesday that 30-year-old Brian Dreaver of the Ahthakakoop First Nation, 25-year-old Kyle Standing from Saskatoon and 29-year-old Matthew Whitstone of the Pelican Lake First Nation have all been charged with one count of first-degree murder.
All three are to appear in Prince Albert court on Feb. 6.
Three other men are already making their way through the court system following charges of second-degree murder and being an accessory after Custer died in 2020.
The victim, who was 20 when he died, was taken to hospital in Shellbrook in August of 2020 with serious injuries. He died shortly afterwards.
Custer was originally from Denare Beach but had moved to Prince Albert and Montreal Lake in the time before his death. He had two young children.
