Saskatoon police’s Hate Crime Unit is investigating after anti-Semitic flyers were found on the city’s north side in the last several days.
According to a news release from police, the printed flyers were found along Whiteswan Drive last Friday. Police don’t yet know who may have distributed them.
Chief Troy Cooper of the Saskatoon Police Service said so far, the flyers are limited to one area.
“We are fortunate in Saskatoon that we have a Hate Crime Unit. This is complicated law, but we do have an expert — someone who can look into it — do a proper investigation (and) make sure people are held to account,” he said.
According to a Twitter post, someone walking outside found a plastic bag of popcorn kernels with several pages tucked inside.
Police are asking anyone who received one of the flyers or who might have relevant information or video footage to contact them.
