Warman parents are on high alert after an abduction attempt in the community on Wednesday.
According to the RCMP, a female youth was approached near a community centre at approximately 3 p.m.
Police responded immediately and conducted patrols in the area but were not able to locate the pickup truck involved or the person driving it.
The vehicle is described as a black two-door truck believed to be an early 2000s Chevrolet or GMC model. According to the RCMP, it is believed the truck was being driven by a 20- to 30-year-old white man wearing a black t-shirt.
The girl, whose age was not released, was able to get away to a safe location without any injuries.
“(We) are requesting parents to advise youth to exercise caution if approached by strangers in a vehicle,” the RCMP said in a release.
“If this vehicle is seen, do not approach and report this to your local police service immediately.”
The Warman RCMP is working toward gathering additional information about the vehicle and the suspect driver.
