Saskatoon police have arrested a 22-year-old man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for offences related to sex trafficking.
The Montreal man was wanted by the Peel Regional Police in Ontario. Saskatoon police picked him up Thursday at about 8 p.m., after conducting a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Avenue C North.
The Saskatoon Police Service’s Vice and Human Trafficking Unit is making arrangements to transport the man to Ontario to face charges.
“The SPS Vice and Human Trafficking Unit also works to connect victims and survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation within the sex trade with the community resources they need,” police said in a media release. “If anyone has information regarding human trafficking, please visit www.canadianhumantraffickinghotline.ca or call the SPS at 306-975-8300.”
