An 18-year-old man wanted in connection with a murder that happened nearly three weeks ago in Saskatoon was apprehended on the weekend.
Zennen Thomas initially was charged with second-degree murder Dec. 5, but police couldn’t find him. On Monday, police said Thomas was arrested after an Air Support Unit and patrol officers responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenue I North.
Thomas is charged with second-degree murder and was expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday.
A 24-year old woman who was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder also was located on the weekend. She was interviewed and released without charges.
A third person wanted by police, a 31-year old man, also is no longer considered a person of interest.
On Dec. 1, police were stopped by a minivan at 21st Street West and Avenue W South around 11:30 a.m. The people in the van told officers there was an injured man inside the vehicle.
According to police, a 21-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died in hospital.
It was Saskatoon’s 10th murder of 2022.
