Special winter activities are continuing in some Saskatchewan provincial parks.
The Festival of Lights is being offered in Pike Lake and Candle Lake provincial parks this month. Visitors can take in the light show from their cars or they can take walking tours through the displays during designated times.
Pike Lake’s Festival of Lights is set for this Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., and Dec. 16 to Dec. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. each day.
The festival Friday at Pike Lake also includes the Back2Nature Sauna Experience. More information and booking details are available here.
Candle Lake’s Festival of Lights is set for Dec. 23 to Dec. 31, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day.
Both festivals are free with a valid park entry permit.
Meanwhile, the “Trim Your Tree” program is continuing in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park.
From now until Dec. 23, visitors can cut down their own Christmas trees to take home.
As well, campsites — including Camp-Easy sites — for winter camping can be reserved online at Buffalo Pound, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Echo Valley and Pike Lake provincial parks until March 15.
