Saskatoon police have charged an 18-year-old man with second-degree murder in connection with the city’s 10th murder of 2022.
Police said Monday that Zennen Thomas had been charged, but he hasn’t been located and now a warrant is out for his arrest. Anyone who sees Thomas should not approach him, but should call police immediately.
On Thursday, police were stopped by a minivan at 21st Street West and Avenue W South around 11:30 a.m. The people in the van told officers there was an injured man inside the vehicle.
According to police, a 21-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died in hospital.
The police said they’re also still looking for two persons of information in the case — 31-year-old Reagan Opoonechaw and 24-year-old Kasseigh Opoonechaw.
Anyone with information about Thomas or the Opoonechaws is asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
