A second teen has been charged in connection with the murder of a 47-year-old man in Prince Albert in May.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with second-degree murder. He made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday morning.
Another 15-year-old, arrested in June, was also charged with second-degree murder.
Barry Pruden, 47, died on May 28 at River Street West and First Avenue.
He was with his daughter when they were confronted by a group of strangers. Pruden took a stand against the group, allowing his daughter Skye to run for help.
Pruden was then found with serious injuries and taken to Victoria Hospital, where he later died.
The first youth’s case is making its way through the court system, with his next appearance set for Dec. 12.
