The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added three American players to their roster, including one who had a stint with the CFL team last season.
Defensive back Devin Jones signed with the Roughriders in September and was added to the practice roster. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder out of the University of North Carolina Pembroke was with the Carolina Panthers through the NFL preseason.
In 42 collegiate games, Jones had 112 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 21 deflected passes, five interceptions, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one blocked field goal. On special teams, he returned 87 kickoffs for 1,965 yards and four touchdowns and 44 punts for 439 yards and another major.
Wide receiver Keith Corbin III went to rookie camp with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills in 2022. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder played 41 games over five seasons at the University of Houston, catching 94 passes for 1,467 yards and 13 touchdowns. He completed his college career at Jackson State University, where he had 69 receptions for 921 yards and seven TDs in 13 games.
Defensive lineman Jerry Garner Jr., played five seasons at Mississippi Valley State University. A 6-foot-2, 240-pounder, Garner Jr., had 163 tackles, 39.5 sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 46 games.
