A Prince Albert company has found a way to give back after signing a major partnership with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
Phantom Light Distillery was named the official vodka of the SJHL for the 2022/23 season, beginning this weekend.
Brenden Miller, one of the owners, said it means a lot to the company.
“It’s a great opportunity for us. Not only are we supporting the communities but they’re supporting us.”
On top of the partnership, Miller said they’ve also created league-branded bottles for each market, with the sales of those bottles going back to every community.
“The pickup of them has been spectacular. Almost every store that we’re in is taking these. Proceeds of $2 from each of those bottles will go directly back to the team in that community.”
Miller added it is exciting to know their product, which has only been around for the past two years, will be seen in more cities and towns in Saskatchewan.
This isn’t the only partnership or honour the company has received, having won a Platinum Honour at the recent Sip Awards.
To have started from humble beginnings in Prince Albert to growing at a fast rate is incredible to the staff at Phantom Light.
“We were in the Calgary Stampede and we also have this partnership with University of Saskatchewan athletics,” Miller said.
“We’re just proud of the product we’re putting out and the relationships we’re building throughout Saskatchewan.”
The company will start the season by setting up tables this weekend in Flin Flon, Battleford, Nipawin, and Humboldt.
