The Saskatchewan Roughriders joined the other eight CFL teams Thursday in releasing the names of 10 players on their negotiation list.
Teams have to do so twice a year — in September and December — after the requirement was approved at the 2018 CFL winter meetings.
Teams are allowed to claim exclusive CFL rights on up to 45 players by placing them on their negotiation lists.
The 10 players on the Roughriders’ list revealed Thursday include four offensive linemen, three quarterbacks, a defensive end, a defensive back and a running back.
- Defensive end Ryan Anderson, Alabama
- Defensive back Antoine Brooks, Maryland
- Quarterback Jack Coan, Notre Dame
- Offensive lineman Jake Dixon, Duquesne
- Offensive lineman Christian DiLauro, Illinois
- Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma
- Offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins, LSU
- Offensive lineman Zack Johnson, North Dakota State
- Running back Adrian Killins Jr., Central Florida
- Quarterback Tanner Mordecai, SMU
Anderson has been in the NFL since being selected by Washington in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft. He’s currently with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Brooks was taken by Pittsburgh in the sixth round of the 2020 draft, but currently is a free agent.
Coan signed as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts this past May, but was waived at the end of August.
Dixon was signed by Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent in April.
DiLauro wasn’t selected in the 2018 NFL draft, but since has had stints with the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Steelers and Tennessee Titans. He was waived by the Titans in August.
Gabriel, a junior, is the starting quarterback for the University of Oklahoma Sooners this season.
Hawkins was drafted by Pittsburgh in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He since has made stops in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Texans, New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints. He was released by the Saints on Aug. 24.
Johnson signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He also had a stop in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and worked out earlier this month with the Carolina Panthers.
Killins was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL draft. He joined the Broncos in 2021, but currently is a free agent.
Mordecai, a senior at SMU, is the Mustangs’ starting quarterback this season.
