A dangerous persons alert issued early Tuesday near Lloydminster has been cancelled.
The suspect vehicle — a black Ford Mustang — and two occupants were found on the Onion Lake Cree Nation. Two men are in police custody.
“Residents of the RM of Britannia and Lloydminster no longer need to shelter in place,” the RCMP said in an update. “If a heightened risk to public safety is identified, we will alert the public.”
The Maidstone RCMP sent out the initial alert after getting reports of shots being fired at a residence in the RM of Brittania, northeast of Lloydminster.
The same vehicle was suspected of being used as someone fired shots at a residence in Lloydminster, as well as an attempted fuel theft in the RM of Britannia.
The RCMP asked anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle to call the Maidstone RCMP at 306-893-4800.
