Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Craig Dickenson has been sidelined.
The CFL team tweeted Wednesday that Dickenson has tested positive for COVID-19 and was in quarantine as per the league’s COVID policy.
However, the team said the 50-year-old Dickenson is expected to return Saturday, the day before the Roughriders are to face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Labour Day Classic at Mosaic Stadium.
Saskatchewan enters the annual Labour Day weekend clash with the Bombers with a 6-5-0 record. The Bombers, who hold down first place in the West Division at 10-1-0, can clinch a playoff spot with a victory.
The Roughriders have dealt with COVID before this season. In mid-July, a number of players and staff members tested positive, forcing Saskatchewan’s game against the Toronto Argonauts to be delayed by a day.
