One of the three schools linked to myriad abuse allegations made in the past few weeks is being shut down by the province.
Earlier this week, the province announced it had appointed three men to be administrators of the three schools in question. Dave Derksen was to be the administrator for Grace Christian School.
In a statement, the provincial government said that when Derksen and a Ministry of Education official went to the school, the director of the school refused to co-operate with them.
According to the statement, that director is named in the lawsuit filed over abuse allegations, so the minister cancelled the school’s Certificate of Registration.
The ministry said Derksen will help families find a new school for their kids for the coming school year.
